Name of Event Davis Graveyard
Roots Rating Date of Review 10/09/2009
A must-see attraction! Where to begin…well, technically, you should start on the Johnson Creek Blvd. side and work your way along 43rd to the driveway-end of this specter-filled spectacular. Following this course, you’ll be greeted by the hearseman, whose gleaming eyes and devilish voice sets the tone for your tour. Next, keep your eye on the front door as a ghostly entity takes his leave, his glowing footsteps literally lighting his path to the front gate—clomp! clomp!—you’re in for a clever touch! Don’t forget to cast an occasional glance at the lone grave digger as a child’s voice beckons you onward, eerily calling you to the crypt where an ethereal lady endlessly paces. For comic relief, keep your eyes pealed for the crypt’s occasional interloper—a manically cavorting skeleton—and just beyond, the talking head that evokes a beloved Disney illusion. Unusually presented vintage horror footage begs you to linger before your tour culminates with a view of the haunted cathedral and the ominous sandmen standing guard. At all points in between, lightning flashes and tombstones taunt as unearthly music creeps into your consciousness. New for 2009, the giant spider envelops its tortured prey à la The Fly—“Help me! Help me!” This professional attraction is provided free of charge, so be sure to visit this one-of-a-kind gift to the community. You won’t be disappointed.
