Portland, Oregon

Last Halloween season saw us captive to tortuous political ads and buried in the politics of fear. This year, the grim economy has us on the ropes-or at least looking to hang from one! Not! Hope is alive, and it's creeping closer all the time-like a killer tomato or the walking dead. You just can't keep a good zombie down!

So, to honor this thriller night (and season), go forth and find your long lost childhood spirit at one of the Northwest's exceptional pumpkin patches or corn mazes, or let out that primal scream you've buried deep in your gut at any of several heart-pounding haunted houses. After all, "No mere mortal can resist the evil of the thriller!"

2009 NEWS Alas! The folks at House of Midnight will not be gracing the local haunt scene with their ever-clever brand of drama this year. Their always appreciated performances were a consistent favorite, and we will miss them and hope for their return next season.

Welcome back to Medford’s Darkwing Manor and Morguetorium, who last delivered Halloween thrills in 2007. Cloaked in authenticity, this multi-faceted offering benefits several charities. The Baron and Baroness Reuwsaat await you!
